Overview

Compared to fiber optic transmission, ordinary PoE switches combinated with fiber media converters can transmit data up to 20km or even further, but only for data transmission, not for PoE power supply. H&T's new ultra-long-range PoE switch can transmit data and power directly over Cat5 network cable over 800 meters without the need for fiber media converters.

Compared to ordinary PoE switches, Hongteng's ultra-long-range PoE switches do not require an external extender for long-distance transmission.

While ordinary PoE switches can transmit up to 250 meters, H&T's Ultra Long Range PoE Switches can transmit up to 800 meters. H&T's Ultra Long Range PoE Switches are highly compatible with any brand of camera and can transmit the longest distance.

Summary

For large warehouses, parks, gardens, and outdoor parking lots, where cameras are scattered, outdoor locations are numerous, and the distance between devices or from the control center is usually greater than 100 meters, ordinary switches cannot meet the transmission requirements. The conventional method is to use an extender to extend the transmission distance. However, this increases the cost of equipment and installation. It also makes maintenance more difficult, and increases the risk of product failure. Alternatively, go with a fiber optic transceiver and transmit over fiber optics. However, direct PoE power is not available and power needs to be provided on the camera side to power the fiber optic transceiver and the camera. If you have several installation points in a large space, this can be a big problem. With H&T's ultra-long-range PoE switch, you can transmit data and power up to 800 meters via Cat5 or Cat6 network cable, which greatly simplifies network construction, improves reliability and reduces installation and maintenance costs.
